Poland: Private and business

Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company SA has launched the "Travel Partner” insurance offer for private and business travellers abroad.

Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company SA has launched the "Travel Partner” insurance offer for private and business travellers abroad. The annual contract covers lost luggage, civil liability, assistance services and cost of medical treatment abroad. Clients receive a handy identification card with an emergency centre number that can be rung for help.

Clients can choose from among one of four protection scope and amount options. Two options are designed for people travelling in Europe and the Mediterranean, while the remaining two are for travellers worldwide. Additional accident insurance is also available.

The introduction of "Travel Partner” insurance represents the next step in the development of the CU General’s offer for individual clients.

"For the past two years we have been gradually preparing additional insurance products for this group of clients. We already offer three types of residential insurance and four types of accident insurance, custom made to the needs of individual clients. The "Travel Partner" insurance has been developed primarily with frequent travellers abroad in mind who wish to be insured for a whole year, with no need to remember to do it before each journey," said Ryszard Bociong, general manager of CU Poland General Insurance Company.

The product will be sold mainly by CU Poland insurance agents, although interest in such products has been growing among brokers and independent agencies.

The Polish business newspaper “Puls Biznesu” has recently rated CU General Insurance Company as one of the "Business Gazelles of 2002”. The award is given to the most dynamically developing small and medium-sized companies, achieving annual revenues from 10 to 300m zlotys (from Ł 1.6m to Ł 47.7m).

The award was presented at the Warsaw Stock Exchange on 30 May 2003. The company has also been awarded two European Medals for its Locum residential insurance. These medals are awarded by the Business Centre Club, Poland’s top business organisation, and the European Integration Committee Office, a Polish government agency, for goods and services meeting EU standards.

  • Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Society offers residential, accident and travel insurance for individual clients as well as for commercial lines insurance for companies and institutions (including fire and loss of income insurance and technical, goods shipping and civil liability insurance).
