Pelayo Vida, a 50% holding of Aviva Vida y Pensiones (an Aviva agency outlet) and the Pelayo Group, has announced the appointment of Luis Fariñas García as the new director general of the company, who will be taking charge of the combined concern created in December 2011.
Pelayo Vida, a 50% holding of Aviva Vida y Pensiones (an Aviva agency outlet) and the Pelayo Group, has announced the appointment of Luis Fariñas García as the new director general of the company, who will be taking charge of the combined concern created in December 2011.
Most recently Fariñas occupied the position of director of planning and strategic development of commercial networks at Aviva Vida y Pensiones, where he has held a number of executive posts in the departments of marketing, training, and planning, among others. Before joining Aviva he was engaged in the management of a number of different insurance companies both national and foreign, such as Plus Ultra and Pricoa Vida.
Luis Fariñas, a graduate in marketing from ESIC and post-graduate in marketing and commercial management at the Escuela Superior de Estudios de Marketing (higher school of marketing, E.S.E.M.) makes the point that: “after more than twenty years in the service of Aviva Vida y Pensiones, I am taking on this new position with the responsibility and aim of boosting the growth of the combined company. As well as that, I have every confidence both in the team at Pelayo Vida as well as in our range of products, which are our guarantee of establishing ourselves as real leaders in the sector”.
José Cortizo, up to now director general of Pelayo Vida, will be embarking on new professional projects in the insurance sector.
