On 6 February 2009, a Corporate Diversity Trophy was awarded to Aviva France - a major player in life insurance and long-term savings, asset management and general insurance - by Mr Yazid Sabeg, commissioner for Diversity and Equal Opportunities.

This trophy rewards the creation of the "Diversity Game", a fun, educational tool intended to raise the awareness of Aviva employees to corporate diversity.

For more than 10 years, Aviva has been implementing a CSR strategy based on solid experience, which remains one of the core concerns of the group. The company is committed to raising awareness and influencing the behaviour of its key target groups with regard to sustainable development. For Aviva, the involvement of its staff is central to its Corporate Responsibility approach. Indeed, as the world's fifth-largest insurance group, Aviva's workforce is made up of people from a broad range of countries and backgrounds.

Aviva values differences, provides a fair playing field and offers an environment that nurtures the talent and creativity of its employees, which ensures that they integrate well and develop a strong team spirit to deliver the best possible service to their clients.

Called "Rethink it" and published on the Aviva France intranet, the Aviva diversity game is structured around various scenarios related to corporate diversity. The game presents different situations and asks questions, for which several answers are proposed. The subtlety of the game lies in the fact that none of the answers is completely obvious, so it gets the players thinking. These scenarios help staff become fully aware of the need to respect diversity in the workplace.

This event, organised in partnership with the ACSE (National Agency for Social Cohesion and Equal Opportunities), recognised Aviva's commitment to promoting diversity.

The innovative Diversity Game concept had already been rewarded in 2007, by the United Nations Global Compact.
