France: www.bienpreparersaretraite.fr - A learning tool to help prepare for retirement

Preparing for retirement is a major concern for the majority of French people. A successful retirement above all means preparing for it properly throughout one's active life.

Preparing for retirement is a major concern for the majority of French people. A successful retirement above all means preparing for it properly throughout one's active life. However, it is often very hard to make progress through the maze of procedures to get through and work out the best investments to consider.

As part of its commitment to accompany savers through every step of the procedure (with the launch of the www.bonconseil.fr website last September) and to respond to the growing concerns of French people concerning their pensions, Aviva Vie has created a web site, www.bienpreparersaretraite.fr/, to help them to prepare for their retirement.

www.bienpreparersaretraite.fr/ provides a comprehensive package of practical objective information, definitions and explanations, giving all savers a better understanding of the issue of pensions and allowing them to take a very important step of life's journey with the greatest peace of mind.

This site, which is by no means meant to replace the advice and support of a specialist pensions and asset management adviser, is based on three broad thematic areas: understanding your pension, preparing for your pension and organising your retirement:

  • Understanding your pension
    Our pension system
    The basic pension
    Complementary pension
    Supplementary pension
    Pension simulator
  • Preparing for your pension
    Take control
    Invest for the future
    Save regularly
    Anticipate
    Ask advice
  • Organising your retirement
    Your right to information
    Your contributions report
    Topping up your state pension
    Retirement
    Early retirement
    Provisions for retirement bonuses

The site can guide users through each of the three subject areas listed above, allowing them to discover step-by-step how to prepare for their retirement under the best possible circumstances, depending on their situation and needs. Users can also work out what their total pension will be, using a simulator, and send their comments and any questions to Aviva.

Because pensions remain on top of the list of the concerns of the French, Aviva Vie is reiterating its commitment to accompany savers every step of the way and help them to prepare for their retirement. By offering savers pension options which are in line with their needs, objectives and investment horizons, by launching the site www.bienpreparersaretraite.fr, and by offering everybody their own personalised pension health check, Aviva is showing that the client is central to its Good Advice approach.
