The board of directors of the Delta Lloyd Group has appointed Frank Blankers to head the merger of Delta Lloyd Life and Swiss Life Belgium, with effect from 1 April 2008.

The board of directors of the Delta Lloyd Group has appointed Frank Blankers to head the merger of Delta Lloyd Life and Swiss Life Belgium, with effect from 1 April 2008. It is expected that the merger between Delta Lloyd Life, the Belgian subsidiary of Delta Lloyd, and Swiss Life Belgium, announced on 21 January, will go ahead at the end of the second quarter. The merger has been approved by the CBFA, the Belgian securities regulator. The plan is for Frank Blankers to take the helm of the newly merged company from then as CEO and chairman of the board. Mr Blankers has been working for the Delta Lloyd Group since 2002 and has been chairman of the board at Delta Lloyd Insurance since October 2005.
The current CEO and chairman of the board at Delta Lloyd Life Belgium, Cees Frankhuisen, will be supporting Frank Blankers with the integration process over the first few months. Mr Frankhuisen will then focus on putting the finishing touches to projects within the Delta Lloyd Group until 1 April 2009, when he will retire after 32 years' service.
Delta Lloyd Insurance
Onno Verstegen MBA (44) has been appointed chairman of the board at Delta Lloyd Insurance, taking over from Frank Blankers. Mr Verstegen has been at the Delta Lloyd Group since 1995 and has held a variety of management and directorship roles.
His position as chairman of the board at Delta Lloyd Life Insurance is being taken on by the current operations director at Delta Lloyd Life Insurance, Emiel Roozen.
Mr Roozen has been working for the Delta Lloyd Group since 2002.
