China: Aviva-Cofco celebrates five amazing years

Aviva-Cofco, Aviva's joint venture in China, celebrated its fifth anniversary on 22 November 2007.

Aviva-Cofco, Aviva's joint venture in China, celebrated its fifth anniversary on 22 November 2007. It was marked by a three-hour celebration in Beijing that included wushu display, peking opera performances, musicians and an awards ceremony in recognition of the staff's high-performance and customer service excellence.

Andrew Moss, group chief executive of Aviva plc, joined Simon Machell, Asia Pacific chief executive; Yu Xubo, chief executive of COFCO; Wu Xiaohui, chairperson of Aviva-Cofco and Eric Chang, president of Aviva-Cofco at the ceremony.

In the five years since Aviva and COFCO launched the joint venture, Aviva-Cofco has made remarkable progress.

We have registered over 200% in compound aggregate growth (CAGR) , and we are ranked second among foreign life companies in premium terms. With eight branch licences and operations across 23 cities, Aviva-Cofco also has the most number of branch licences when compared with other foreign life companies.

Aviva-Cofco is indeed on course to deliver its 10x10x10 vision. As of the anniversary, it now has 3,661 agents, 1,899 bank outlets, 147 broker partners and 622 telemarketers.
