Aviva appoints José Luis Ortiz as managing director of Cajamurcia Vida.
45-year-old Ortiz has extensive experience in the bancassurance sector. His previous position was as head of life and non-life insurance business in central and southern Spain for CaiFor, where he worked for 17 years.
Cajamurcia Vida is the latest company to join Aviva's bancassurance network in Spain. It is a joint venture created in June 2007, within the framework of an agreement between Cajamurcia and Aviva. Thanks to this agreement, through its network of 413 branches, Cajamurcia will exclusively distribute the products of Cajamurcia Vida, the new life and pensions company.
It is anticipated that the company will begin operations in the last quarter of 2007, through the Cajamurcia distribution network, once it has obtained official authorisation.
