As part of its ongoing support for the local community, Aviva Life Insurance Company’s community involvement programme has donated hundreds of office furniture items that will be distributed to nine public schools in Quincy.
As part of its ongoing support for the local community, Aviva Life Insurance Company’s (Aviva’s) community involvement programme has donated hundreds of office furniture items that will be distributed to nine public schools in Quincy.
In conjunction with Aviva’s recent move from Newport Office Park to Batterymarch Park, the company made a non-tax-deductible donation of office furniture to the Quincy public schools valued at approximately US$22,000. Items included desks, chairs, tables, credenzas, file cabinets and bookshelves.
"Quincy Public School administrators, staff and students continue to praise and thank Aviva for its generous donation of office furniture,” says Dr Rick DeCristofaro, Quincy’s superintendent of schools. “So many Quincy public school staff are beneficiaries of this exciting and wonderful initiative. How fortunate for Quincy public schools to partner with Aviva."
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to help our good friends in the Quincy public schools in this way,” notes Hans Carstensen, Aviva’s president and CEO. “During a recent Big Sister Little Sister visit to one of the schools, an Aviva Community Involvement committee member spotted some of the donated furniture in a classroom. She later told me how proud she felt to have helped make a difference. I think all of us at Aviva feel that way about our partnership with the Quincy public schools.”
