Aviva publishes 5th CSR summary report

Aviva’s fifth CSR summary report has been published, which highlights performance during 2005.

Our report shows steady, incremental progress in the management of our CSR programme across the Aviva businesses worldwide. It continues to outline our response to the three key CSR issues identified for the group, namely: climate change, customer care and managing structural change.

The CSR report also includes a summary of our progress in each of the eight elements of our CSR programme. This includes managing performance in respect of standards of business conduct, the environment, human rights and health and safety as well as the promotion of good and fair relations with our employees, our suppliers, our customers and the broader community.

Some notable internal developments over the past year include, an 11% reduction in global CO2 emissions, increase in use of renewables-sourced electricity (businesses now include Aviva Czech Republic, Hibernian and the UK), over 24,000 hours volunteered across the group and an increase in SRI funds under management to over Ł800 million. There are also numerous examples of how CSR has been further integrated into our products and services around the group.

Externally, we are committed to playing our part in developing further the understanding and practice of CSR among our sector peers and the global business community through initiatives such as the UN Global Compact and FORGE.

The CSR summary report is available as both a PDF and a printed summary:
