Morley Fund Management, one of the UK largest fund managers, has appointed James Tanner to the new position of managing director, distribution. James will report to Morley’s chief executive officer Keith Jones and will also be appointed to the Morley board (subject to regulatory approval).
Morley Fund Management, one of the UK largest fund managers, has appointed James Tanner to the new position of managing director, distribution. James will report to Morley’s chief executive officer Keith Jones and will also be appointed to the Morley board (subject to regulatory approval).
James will provide overall focus for all of Morley’s distribution activities in the UK and internationally. His direct reports will be Alan Gadd, managing director, UK and European retail and Alistair Morrison, managing director, institutional.
James was most recently managing director, institutional sales, global markets, EMEA at HSBC. Between 1983-2002, James worked for Morgan Stanley in London, New York and Hong Kong where he held a number of roles including managing director, head European investment management business and managing director, head international private client group, Asia.
Morley’s chief executive officer Keith Jones said: "This is an important new position for Morley. We’ve reshaped our business over the past two years and are now positioned to significantly grow in our key UK and European markets. Jim’s appointment will be the catalyst to accelerating the growth of our external business in particular, as well as strengthening our relationships with our existing strategic partners.
