A shareholders’ meeting of Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company has appointed Jacek Ojrzyñski, director of commercial lines department, as a member of the company’s management board.
A shareholders’ meeting of Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company has appointed Jacek Ojrzyński, director of commercial lines department, as a member of the company’s management board. He will be responsible for commercial lines insurance, ie services for companies and institutions. His appointment is subject to regulatory approval by the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Committee.
Jacek Ojrzyński studied in the Department of Foreign Trade at the Warsaw School of Economics. He took part in many training courses in insurance, reinsurance and management, in Poland and abroad. He has many years of experience in commercial lines general insurance.
During 1990-96 he was employed at Poland's second-largest general insurer Warta, and in 1996-98 at PZU, the country’s largest non-life insurer. In both companies he held managerial positions in the area of commercial lines business.
He joined CU General in 1998, first as deputy director of the underwriting department, then as departmental director and, since 2001, as director of the commercial lines department.
Following this appointment, and after obtaining necessary regulatory approval, the management board of CU General will consist of: Anna Katarzyna Wojciechowska (general manager), Urszula Gšsior (deputy general manager) and Jacek Ojrzyński (board member).
Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company has been operating on a larger scale since 1996 and is now 16th in the property insurance market by gross premiums (2003 data). CU General offers home, accident and travel insurance for individual customers as well as insurance for companies and institutions (including fire and loss of profits insurance, technical insurance, property in transit insurance and civil liability insurance). In 2003 CU General collected PLN71.8m (Ł10.7m) gross premiums, achieving PLN3.7m (Ł0.5m) gross profit.
