Anna Katarzyna Wojciechowska, a deputy general manager of Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company, will be appointed general manager of the company. Ryszard Bociong, the current general manager, has resigned after eight years of service.
Anna Katarzyna Wojciechowska, a deputy general manager of Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company, will be appointed general manager of the company. Ryszard Bociong, the current general manager, has resigned after eight years of service.
Ryszard Bociong justified his decision to resign by declaring that he has accomplished the mission entrusted to him at the launch of CU General operations in 1996. He is convinced that the experience and professionalism of the CU General team are a guarantee of further success. Ryszard Bociong will seek new challenges in the insurance business.
"Ryszard Bociong played a significant role in building from scratch the market position of the company and its good name among clients and customers. I thank him very much for his hard work and wish him all the best in the future," said Zbigniew Andrzejewski, chief executive of Commercial Union Poland Group and chairman of CU General supervisory board.
Anna Katarzyna Wojciechowska will be acting general manager of the company until obtaining official clearance from the regulator, Insurance and Pension Funds Supervision Committee.
"Anna Wojciechowska has been working in CU General for the past eight years and I am convinced that the company will achieve further success under her management," said Mr Andrzejewski.
Anna Katarzyna Wojciechowska completed studies in foreign trade at the Warsaw School of Economics. Since 1987 she has been working in the Polish insurance market. She has completed many courses domestically and abroad. She has represented the Polish insurance market in international insurance organisations. She joined CU General in 1996. Since 1999 she has been a deputy general manager of CU General. She is married with two sons.
Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company has operated in a larger scale since 1996 and is now 16th in the property insurance market by gross premium written (2003 data) CU General offers home, accident and travel insurance for individual customers as well as insurance for companies and institutions (including fire and loss of profits insurance, technical insurance, property in transit insurance and civil liability insurance).
In 2003 CU General collected 71.8m zloty (Ł 10.7m) of gross premium, achieving 3.7m zloty (Ł 0.5m) gross profit.
