Therefore, its management has entrusted Robert Zagata with this task.
Robert ceases to be a deputy general manager of CU Life and CU Poland’s distribution company.
On 14 June Zygmunt Kostkiewicz took over from Robert as deputy general manager of CU Poland Life and CU Poland’s distribution company. He takes on responsibility for sales and marketing of life insurance as well as the development of the internal and external distribution networks.

Zygmunt Kostkiewicz has already worked for CU from 1998-2001. In this period he was general manager of the CU pension fund and one of the creators of its success – achieving and reinforcing its first place in the pension fund market. He has vast experience of the insurance and financial sector.
Born in 1961, Zygmunt studied at Ecole Nationale d’Assurances in Paris. And, from the start of his professional life, has worked in insurance. A the beginning of the 1990s, he was deputy director of a team organising a mutual insurance company at the Democratic Action Foundation. Then, until 1995, he was deputy general manager of TUW mutual insurance company and later became deputy general manager of Polisa Zycie, a life insurer. In 1998 he became general manager of CU pension fund. In 2001-2002 he was chief executive of PZU, Poland’s largest insurance group. In 2002-2003, he was director of strategic projects for the Eureko insurance group in Poland. Recently, he was on the management board of several Polish companies in the Generali insurance group.
Robert Zagata has been involved with Commercial Union since 1992 and has done a variety of jobs around the group. He worked as an insurance agent, a unit manager, a CU branch director in Gdansk (a city in northern Poland), then as a management board member of CU Life and head of distribution. From December 1999 he was the deputy general manager of CU Life and later also deputy general manager of CU Poland’s distribution company.
The CU group serves over 3 million customers and manages assets of total value over 22bn PLN (over Ł3.2bn). It is a leader in the individual life insurance and pension fund markets.
