The supervisory board of Delta Lloyd has nominated Pamela Boumeester, Marcel Smits and Philip Scott for appointment as new members of the supervisory board.
The supervisory board of Delta Lloyd has nominated Pamela Boumeester, Marcel Smits and Philip Scott for appointment as new members of the supervisory board.
Pamela Boumeester, aged 45, studied history and law at the University of Groningen. She has held several management positions at Netherlands Railways (NS) since 1988. Currently she is managing director of NS Reizigers, the company’s passenger travel subsidiary. She holds several other offices, including member of the Advisory Council of Ormit BV and member of the University of Groningen Alumni Association. Mrs Boumeester has been nominated for appointment as member of the supervisory board by the Central Works Council of Delta Lloyd Group as the successor to Jan Oskam, who resigned earlier this year.
Marcel Smits, aged 42, studied business economics and tax law at the University of Amsterdam and accountancy at the Netherlands Institute of Registered Accountants (NIVRA). He became CFO of the executive board of Koninklijke Vendex KBB in 1999. From 1986 to 1999 he held various management positions at Unilever in the Netherlands, South America and the Far East. He is also a member of the board of Dutch Employers Organisation VNO/NCW, deputy member of the SER and a member of the board of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr Smits will also join the audit committee of the supervisory board.
Philip Scott, aged 49, has been group executive director at Delta Lloyd’s London-based shareholder Aviva plc since 2000. Within Aviva’s executive committee he is responsible for the continental European and international life and long-term savings businesses. An actuary, he has worked for Norwich Union, Britain’s largest insurance company and part of Aviva, since 1973, for the last 10 years as CEO of Norwich Union Life. Mr Scott will succeed Tony Wyand, who following his retirement as an Aviva executive director will leave the supervisory board of Delta Lloyd Group after 15 years.
All nominations are subject to approval by the relevant regulatory and other bodies.
