Urszula Gasior has been appointed deputy chief executive of Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company. From 2001 she has been a CU GI board member and finance director.
The CU General Insurance Board also includes Ryszard Bociong, the chief executive and Anna Katarzyna Wojciechowska, deputy chief executive. Urszula Gasior will be responsible for the financial department.
In 1992 she graduated from the foreign trade department of the Central School of Planning and Statistics (currently Warsaw School of Economics). During 1992-2001 she worked for Arthur Andersen, first in the audit section, then in the business consulting area. During this time she worked with Poland's largest financial institutions in the insurance and banking sectors as financial and economic advisor and auditor. She managed and took part in the implementation of a few dozen consulting projects, including some for the Treasury and other governmental departments.
Urszula Gasior is 34. Her favourite pastime is travelling.
Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company, which has been operating on a large scale since 1997, offers home and accident insurance for individual clients. The company also offers company and institutional insurance, with the most important of them being fire and loss of profit, technical, goods transport and civil liability insurance. CU Poland tied insurance agents play the key role in the distribution of personal line products while insurance brokers mostly sell commercial lines insurance.
In 2002 CU Poland GI collected 70.6 million zlotys (Ł11m) gross premiums (42% rise in comparison with 2001), amounting to 6.7 million zlotys (Ł1m) net profit.
