Following the annual review of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI), we are pleased to announce that Aviva continues to be included in both the Dow Jones Sustainability World and STOXX indexes.
Aviva is also the only UK insurer to be included in both sets of indexes.
The indexes track the performance of sustainability-driven companies worldwide and will influence the investment decisions of 40 fund managers who use the DJSI family as objective benchmarks for socially responsible investment portfolios.
The assessment results also offer detailed insights into the growing importance of economic, environmental and social criteria in the corporate world. The annual review shows that, over the past 12 months, the average sustainability performance of companies has improved significantly.
Anthony Sampson, director of corporate social responsibility, said: "This is a very satisfactory outcome for the group, which provides further confirmation that our Corporate Social Responsibility programme is delivering."
