Norwich Union has donated money raised from the sale of promotional t-shirts at the Grampian Motorcycle convention to the National Association of Bikers with a Disability (NABD).

Norwich Union, in association with brokers Craig and Suttar of Aberdeen, sponsored the convention in Grampian, near Aberdeen. The T-shirts were sold for a minimum of Ł1 and a total of Ł728.24 was raised.

The charity was nominated because of the valuable work it does with disabled people in helping them to have access to motorcycling.

The cheque was presented to Rick Hulse, national chairman of NABD by Alan Drury, Norwich Union’s regional manager for the North West who commented: "As the UK’s largest motorbike insurer, we are delighted to be able to help improve the independence of motorcyclists with a disability. It is wonderful to know that the money raised will directly benefit those who need it most."

On receiving the donation outside the NABD's Altrincham office, Rick Hulse said: "We have several NABD grant assisted trike adaptions underway at present for wheelchair users and this donation will go a long way to help. Anyone who has a love of motorcycling can probably imagine what this means for those individuals who will benefit."
