In June, a conference was held for all those with primary responsibility throughout the Group for implementing the environmental programme. It brought together representatives from both the former CGU and Norwich Union, as well as from partner organisations like BiE, BTCV and WWF-UK.
In June, a conference was held for all those with primary responsibility throughout the Group for implementing the environmental programme. It brought together representatives from both the former CGU and Norwich Union, as well as from partner organisations like BiE, BTCV and WWF-UK.
The conference, opened by the Chairman, aimed to give delegates a thorough and shared understanding of the past progress and future direction of the CGNU environmental programme.
The two main objectives were to:
coach participants in methodologies to enable uniform reporting group-wide by the year end
prepare for the conduct of an environmental audit before next year's Environment Report.
The conference successfully achieved these objectives and helped to build a sense of common purpose amongst those charged with delivery of the environmental programme at business unit level.
