Spain: Aviva and Cajamurcia celebrate their progress in life insurance, savings and pensions

In Murcia this afternoon, Aviva and Cajamurcia celebrate the results obtained in their joint venture in life and pensions, Cajamurcia Vida which, with growth of 30% in life reserves and more than €100 million in premiums during the last financial year, place the company as a leader in products for welfare and long-term savings.

In Murcia this afternoon, Aviva and Cajamurcia celebrate the results obtained in their joint venture in life and pensions, Cajamurcia Vida which, with growth of 30% in life reserves and more than €100 million in premiums during the last financial year, place the company as a leader in products for welfare and long-term savings.

Cajamurcia Vida has more than 200,000 clients and more than €500 million continuously managed with its ascendant line. After four years of profitable alliance in the distribution of insurance and pension plans, Cajamurcia Vida has achieved 300 million of managed capital in pension funds.

Also, Cajamurcia Vida has been the company that grew the most in the community of Murcia, according to the latest independent figures provided by the ICEA (Cooperative Investigation between Insurance Companies) where it achieved 33% of the market share.    

José Luis Ortiz, director general of Cajamurcia Vida, has affirmed that: “After four years of joint alliance between both companies, we have achieved and consolidated a leadership position in the region thanks to a transparent and fully effective business model. The results secured during the past financial year endorse our strategy. In this sense, we shall continue to work to offer our clients the best service and an increasingly flexible product portfolio.”

On his part, Carlos Egea, chairman of Cajamurcia, has stressed that: “The experience of Aviva in the national and international scene and the quality of its product portfolio, combined with the proven consultancy and distribution capacity of Cajamurcia, has provided an excellent opportunity to create value for both partners. Within this framework, one of our greatest achievements has been to consolidate the trust and well-being of our clients.”
 
Strength of the business in banking insurance
Aviva offers a business model that has set a trend in the Spanish banking insurance market, creating companies with a 50% holding with each of its partners and specialising in the commercialisation of its life insurance and pensions products. In this way, Cajamurcia Vida operates through the 398 branch offices that Cajamurcia owns in eight Spanish provinces, and it covers all the necessities of the bank’s clients in the area of life insurance, savings and pensions.

On his part, Ignacio Izquierdo, managing director of Aviva, has affirmed that: “Cajamurcia and Aviva have developed an effective and solvent business model which has secured four years of successes in the service of its clients, even within an adverse economic context.”

And he affirmed that: “Considering these results, and taking into account the increasing awareness on long-term savings of consumers, we fully trust that this so positive evolution of the business will continue.”

Keys to success according to Martín Berasategui
Motivated by the celebration of the latest results of the company’s business, an event took place in the Hall of Culture of Cajamurcia today for the clients of Cajamurcia and Cajamurcia Vida, hosted by Martín Berasategui. The Basque cook has offered a conference in which he wanted to share with those attending the keys to the success that led him to accumulate seven Michelin stars in his CV.

During the event, Aviva wanted to thank those attending with a special edition of the book “Markets of Spain”, in which Martín Berasategui also collaborated.
