Aviva appoints Cathryn Riley as chief information officer

Aviva plc today announced the appointment of Cathryn Riley as its chief information officer, effective immediately. Cathryn joins Aviva’s Group Executive Committee (GEC), reporting directly into Andrew Moss, Aviva’s chief executive.

Aviva plc today announced the appointment of Cathryn Riley as its chief information officer, effective immediately. Cathryn joins Aviva’s Group Executive Committee (GEC), reporting directly into Andrew Moss, Aviva’s chief executive. She will continue to be based at Aviva’s headquarters in London.

As part of her new role, Cathryn will be focused on defining the global IT strategy Aviva needs to support its business, and driving the best use of emerging technology for Aviva and its customers. There will be a particular focus on ensuring that all regional teams are fully aligned to deliver these goals. 

Andrew Moss, chief executive commented: “Cathryn is uniquely well placed to lead the IT function, having held senior business and IT leadership positions in both our European and UK Regions. The IT agenda is crucial to our business success, and the time is right to increase the focus on technology at a Board level. Cathryn also joined the Board of Equitable Life in August 2009 where she continues to chair the Remuneration Committee.
