Germany: Award for classic basic pension with occupational disability insurance

Top rank from Morgen & Morgen – Awards in the “lowest contributions” and “highest guaranteed pension” categories

The Wiesbaden-based financial services provider Delta Lloyd has received the top award from Morgen & Morgen for its classic basic pension with occupational disability insurance. The combination of basic pension and additional occupational disability insurance is especially useful given the fact that this insurance is also tax-funded and, in the event of becoming unable to work, it not only pays an occupational disability pension, but also takes over contributions toward the basic pension. In this way the pension is safe in any eventuality.

The Delta Lloyd basic pension with additional occupational disability insurance was recognised in the “lowest contributions” and “highest guaranteed pension” categories. The award for the “lowest contributions” is given to tariffs with the lowest contributions for a monthly occupational disability pension of €1,200. There is a legal requirement that must be fulfilled, that a maximum of 50% of the total contribution for the basic pension and occupational disability insurance can be used for the occupational disability pension.

Highest guaranteed pension
The evaluation of the highest guaranteed pension is based on the guaranteed pension that can be achieved for a monthly contribution of €100 and additional cover to give a monthly occupational disability pension of €750.

Payment flexibility
The basic pension is almost the only tax-funded provision for retirement available to the self-employed. A further advantage of this product lies in the greater level of flexibility for annual additional payments. This means that those running their own business can make low monthly contributions and then, at the year end – depending on their financial situation – take advantage of the tax allowance of €20,000 for single people or €40,000 for married people.
