Germany: Vorhoeven appointed managing director of Delta Lloyd Asset Management Vertriebs GmbH

On 1 December 2008 Rik Vorhoeven was appointed as managing director - Out of the red after just 100 days ¿ Marketing measures successfully introduced for the Delta Lloyd SICAV Funds.

On 1 December 2008 Rik Vorhoeven was appointed as managing director of Delta Lloyd Asset Management Vertriebs GmbH. This subsidiary of Delta Lloyd Deutschland AG is responsible for the distribution of the Luxembourg-based Delta Lloyd SICAV Funds. In Germany, the most well-known fund in this portfolio is the Delta Lloyd L Water & Climate Fund which invests in fast-growing companies that are involved in current challenges such as water shortage or climate change and that develop sustainable solutions to these problems. The portfolio also includes nine further funds such as the Delta Lloyd L New Energy Fund, recently awarded an "A" rating by Standard & Poor's.

Out of the red after 100 days
After just 100 days in his new position, the 32-year-old has a positive balance sheet. "In the last three months we have introduced a whole package of measures to promote the distribution of these funds in Germany. Over recent weeks we have held many discussions with notable institutional investors and are close to closing a whole range of distribution agreements". Verhoeven sees the focus of the distribution activity for this year as the Delta Lloyd L Water & Climate Fund, and he also plans to introduce a completely new SICAV sub-fund in the second quarter.

The Dutchman has studied management, economics and law, specialising in banking and insurance, and has a master's degree in General Management. Vorhoeven has already been working for the Delta Lloyd group for eight years. Initially he worked in in-house consulting in the Netherlands and Germany and in 2003 took over management of the back office of SINGA Assekuranzmakler AG insurance brokers in Chemnitz. In 2005 he transferred within the group to Delta Lloyd in Wiesbaden where he was employed as Key Clients Manager, firstly to set up a new entity, but also to look after and acquire German and international clients, sometimes in cooperation with Dutch parent company Delta Lloyd Groep.

This enthusiastic family man is married with one daughter.
