Germany: Free information pack on unit-linked pensions

Sales pack includes a game for a fun start to client meetings – More detailed product information – Template for mailing.

Unit-linked pensions are an important product among retirement plans since they offer security as well as flexibility and a high chance of good returns. However, comprehensive advice is important for these products.

To support agents in advising customers on unit-linked pensions, the Wiesbaden-based financial services provider Delta Lloyd has put together a free information pack containing detailed information and a variety of sales materials.

Life’s turning points
To create a good atmosphere for the consultation, while also demonstrating to the customer the variety of services and the flexibility of unit-linked pensions, the new pack includes a little game. On a wheel, the customer chooses a life event that is the most appropriate or most likely for him or her, for example a wedding, a pay rise or the birth of a child. The customer is then given a matching life phase card. On one side of the card, similar to in well-known board games, the life phase is outlined again. The back of the card explains what the unit-linked pension has to offer for this situation. So, in the case of a marriage for example, the customer would learn about integrating survivor’s cover in the pension to protect their partner. The life phase cards are supplemented with matching event or action cards which show customers solutions to unforeseeable events such as unemployment or a stock market crash.

Clearly laid out
Alongside the game, the pack also include another calculation disc. Using this, the broker can demonstrate to the customer how to secure their private retirement plan with €50, €100 or €150. After the customer’s age has been entered, the anticipated monthly pension and the possible lump-sum benefit are calculated.

The pack also gives agents two practical overviews. Firstly, a comparison with all competitor tariffs currently on the market. Secondly, a summary of the numerous national and international funds that are available to Delta Lloyd unit-linked pension plan customers. As well as the WKN and ISN, this outlines management fees, the TER and investment priorities.

The pack includes a graph for calculating any gaps that the customer needs to close in their retirement provisions, as well as informative product documentation and a mailing template.
