Delta Lloyd is going to be the main sponsor of the Richard Avedon Exhibition, on display in Foam Fotografiemuseum in Amsterdam from 13 February to 13 May.

The "Richard Avedon - Photographs 1946-2004" exhibition features more than two hundred works. Richard Avedon (1923 - 2004) enjoyed star-status until his death and still has an enormous influence on contemporary photographers. The exhibition offers more than just a retrospective of his life, with images from recent American history. Avedon not only photographed Hollywood-stars and politicians but also "normal people". The exhibition is only going to appear at six venues worldwide and, in view of its unique nature and size, is going to take up the whole museum.

Marloes Krijnen, Foam's director, had this to say about the exhibition: "We are really delighted about this joint venture. It is a top world exhibition and it is really special that Foam is going to be the only venue in the Netherlands (and the last venue in Europe) where the work of this leading photographer is going to be on display to the Dutch public. For that we are also indebted to the sponsorship provided by Delta Lloyd."

Delta Lloyd has been actively supporting photography since 2005, through its commitment to the Joop Swart Masterclass of World Press Photo. Photography is an accessible form of culture for a broad sector of the public and Delta Lloyd makes intensive use of photography in external and internal media. For example a number of those who took part in the 2008 Joop Swart Masterclass have been commissioned to photograph Team Delta Lloyd in the Volvo Ocean Race.
