Aviva appoints chief executive for Hungarian business

Aviva, the international savings, investments and insurance group, announces that Janos Bartok has joined the group as CEO of its Hungarian business, Aviva Hungary.

Aviva, the international savings, investments and insurance group, announces that Janos Bartok has joined the group as CEO of its Hungarian business, Aviva Hungary.

Bartok, 39, brings extensive experience in the insurance industry to Aviva. He joins from Aegon Hungary where he worked for 14 years, most recently as deputy CEO of the non-life business. His experience at Aegon also includes roles as head of the life division and CEO of the pension fund. Bartok will report in Aviva Europe to Pierre-Olivier Bouée, director - Central and Eastern Europe.

Commenting on the appointment, Tidjane Thiam, group executive director, Aviva Europe, said: "Janos has a wealth of experience in the rapidly growing Hungarian insurance market and I am certain he will play an instrumental role in driving the growth of our business in Hungary."

Aviva Hungary, which is headquartered in Budapest, is among the top life providers in the Hungarian long-term savings market. It focuses on the high-net-worth individual segment of the Hungarian market through a sales force of more than 600 tied agents. Products are also distributed through 25 agencies nationwide.
