Diane joins Aviva from Standard Life, where she was group director, risk management and compliance. At Standard Life, she developed and implemented the new group’s risk management and control framework and played an important part in preparing Standard Life for demutualisation.
In her new role as group audit director, Diane will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the group-wide audit and assurance policies and practices for Aviva. Diane will relocate from Edinburgh to London and will join Aviva later this year.
Andrew Moss, group finance director, Aviva plc, said: “Diane brings a wealth of audit and insurance industry experience to the role. Her appointment will add significant value to Aviva as we continue to develop our audit approach across the group.”
Born and educated in Canada, Diane held various internal audit positions with Standard Life Assurance Company in Montreal, Canada, from 1995. She quickly advanced within the company to director, internal audit and corporate compliance, before moving across the Atlantic to Standard Life in Edinburgh, as group internal audit director in 2003.
