Aviva announces directors' responsibilities

Aviva plc (“Aviva”) announces that at its meeting today the board appointed Wim Dik as its senior independent director.

Aviva plc (“Aviva”) announces that at its meeting today the board appointed Wim Dik as its senior independent director. He succeeds George Paul who retired from the board on 31 December 2005. Wim Dik joined the board in December 1999.

Aviva also announces that Lord Sharman has succeeded Pehr Gyllenhammar as the chairman of the nomination committee. Pehr Gyllenhammar retired from the board with effect from 31 December 2005. Lord Sharman joined the board in January 2005 becoming chairman with effect from 1 January 2006.

Richard Goeltz has been appointed chairman of the remuneration committee succeeding George Paul. Richard Goeltz joined the board in May 2004.

Derek Stevens remains the chairman of the audit committee.

These changes follow on from the board changes announced on the 7 December 2005.
