Aviva plc has announced senior management changes which will take effect in 2006.
Mike Pemberton, group HR director, will retire in March 2006 and will be succeeded by John Ainley, who is currently people and organisation director, Norwich Union Life and was previously HR director, Aviva General Insurance. Ainley will report to Richard Harvey, group chief executive of Aviva plc and will take Mike Pemberton’s place on the group executive committee.
Russell Martin, currently HR director (UK & Europe) at Prudential Assurance, will take up the role of director of people and organisation at Norwich Union Life, with effect from 1 February 2006.
Martin’s previous positions have included specialist roles in reward and recruitment, in addition to international HR positions in a number of sectors, including advertising, media and banking.
