Aviva has been a London Living Wage employer since the programme’s inception in 2005.
This means we are committed to paying employees an amount which is calculated to provide their family with the essentials of life. London’s mayor, Boris Johnson announced this morning, 5 November 2012, that the London Living Wage is now £8.55 per hour.
To be a Living Wage employer all direct staff and contractors working on the premises should be paid at least the Living Wage. We reach this benchmark in London. Throughout the rest of the UK our minimum pay levels for direct staff do not fall below the UK national living wage, currently at £7.20 per hour. We continue to work with our suppliers to discuss payment of the Living Wage for onsite contractors and are working towards becoming an accredited Living Wage employer.
Aviva is proud to be a partner of the Living Wage Foundation advisory council.
