One lucky choir will get the chance to perform at the first ever game played at Aviva Stadium. Aviva have launched the nationwide search for the Aviva Choir to entertain the crowds and be part of the big match build up for the O2 Challenge when a Connacht/Munster rugby selection take on a Leinster/Ulster side on 31 July.

In partnership with Today FM’s Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, we are searching for a choir with that little bit of extra magic to capture the spirit of this historic day and deliver a rousing performance, worthy of the first match at Ireland’s new home for rugby and football.

What do Choirs need to do to enter?
Ideally send an email with a link to performance video footage via:

  • YouTube channels or single video uploads
  • MySpace pages
  • Google video.

To choirs@avivacompetition.ie

Attachments of less than 5MB .MOV .MPG .AVI files are acceptable too and while we accept sound files, video performance is preferred as it helps give the best representation of a Choir’s star quality!

The audition song should be one to best represent how the Aviva Choir will get the crowd singing along and enhance the party atmosphere on match day. Song choice and performance style is down to the choir – from the most traditional to modern innovators - all are welcome, but remember: the repertoire and style should match the occasion!

On match day, a maximum of 32 singers can take part in the performance. The prize will also include transport to and from Aviva Stadium as well as match tickets for all choir members.

Entrants can range in age and experience and can be based anywhere in Ireland. Choirs can sing in any vocal style from classical to pop, folk to funk and anywhere in between.

Entries will be accepted until Wednesday 30 June and the Top Five choirs, chosen by an independent judging panel, will be announced on Friday 2 July.

The Top Five choirs will be featured on the Ian Dempsey Show on Today FM from Monday 5 July to Friday 9 July when the public will have the chance to vote for their favourite performers.
