Six hundred walkers gathered in Birmingham on Friday 22 September, for the second Aviva Weekend to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
The 60km walk kicked off at 7am on Saturday 23 September, following a speech by Norwich Union head of customer management Margaret Mullins and, despite some bad weather, raised more than £1.3m, taking the total for both events to over £5.3m.
As with the London walk, the previous weekend, hundreds of volunteers, including 20 Norwich Union staff, helped to put up and take down tents, serve meals and distribute water and Aviva-branded goodie bags.
Commenting on the event, Sarah Loughran said: "This was the culmination of a lot of hard work by Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Aviva and it was very gratifying that so much money was raised to help Breakthrough achieve their vision of a future free from breast cancer.
"Congratulations and thank you to all the walkers and volunteers who have taken part in the event and whose spirits were not dampened by the soggy conditions."
