UK: 'Forward thinking' with BBC Radio 3

As part of its Forward thinking corporate marketing campaign Aviva is joining forces with BBC Radio 3 from October, to launch a new, three-year partnership with the BBC's New Generation Artists (NGA) scheme.

The scheme is all about nurturing talent. It invests in the future of 12 brilliant, international, young musicians, who are beginning to make their mark on the national and international music scene, by offering them a wide range of opportunities to showcase their talent.

Appearances at the BBC Proms, studio recordings with BBC orchestras, and participation in internationally-recognised concerts and festivals are just a few examples of the exposure these young artists will receive.

With Aviva's support the BBC is developing the scheme further by selecting a rising star from the jazz world for the first time. The first jazz artist to join the scheme is Gwilym Simcock.

Next year, Aviva's sponsorship will also enable the BBC to establish a New Generations Arts Festival. Twelve concerts, featuring all the NGA participants, will form part of the 2007 City of London Festival.
