Aviva wins a fourth award in the Golden Crown competition - Public awards Bronze Crown to Talisman investment life insurance

The Golden Crown competition award winners were announced in the hotel Praha on Thursday 11 May. In the category "Most Popular Financial Product of the year 2006", decided by public vote, insurance products swept the board. Talisman, the investment life insurance for children, came third, winning the Bronze Crown.

This was the fourth year of the prestigious Golden Crown competition, and once again Aviva received accolades. This year the children's policy Talisman won the Bronze Crown in the category "Most Popular Financial Product of the Year", the only category decided by public vote, in competition with 142 other products. This underlined the Bronze Crown awarded by an expert jury to the same product in 2005 in the "Life and Capital Insurance" category.

Aviva's Talisman gives parents the chance to devote themselves fully to a child in the event of its suffering serious injury or illness, or to afford it premium treatment, because this is one of the few policies on the Czech market to offer cover in the event of serious illnesses and serious fractures in children. Talisman provides security also in the event of the death of an insured parent, and provides financial support for the child to embark on a life of its own.

"Children's policies are popular everywhere, and I am sure they will continue to enjoy good prospects in future. Of course, I am very gratified that the public was able to acknowledge the quality of our product. The awards received in recent years demonstrate that we are heading in the right direction and also the quality of our commercial service on which Aviva places great emphasis," commented Pavel Matoušek, general manager of Aviva životní pojišťovna.

Those words of the general manager of Aviva Life Insurance were životní pojišťovna are underlined also by the success of the product Personal Life Plan in the Golden Crown awards in 2004 and 2005, where it won a Silver and Golden Crown in the "Most Popular Product of the Year" category.

Talisman
The sum insured is 400,000 crowns, and the state of health of the child is not checked at the time the policy is concluded. The insurance is often taken out already on the birth of offspring, but may also be taken out at any time before the child reaches 15 years of age. Payout of the money saved under the scheme is made when the child reaches an agreed age, which can be in the range of 18 to 25 years. Agreed premiums for children's insurance are mainly paid by the parents (or other adult person) and when the insurance term has elapsed the child receives the savings component of the policy. With Talisman, it is also possible to conclude unique supplementary insurance for serious illnesses and serious fractures in children. This supplementary insurance covers a total of 16 serious illnesses (for example meningitis, encephalitis, diabetes and tetanus). In the event of the death of the insured parent, the insurance company will take over the parent's premium payments until the end of the insurance term and moreover index the premiums at 5% per annum. At the end of the insurance term, the insured child will then receive at least the same sum as he or she would have got if the insured parent had not died.
