Overview

Aviva is proud to take action with local partners to help strengthen financial resilience, invest in housing and infrastructure, and improve employability prospects across Eastleigh and Southampton. We’re establishing programmes that aim to improve social outcomes for disadvantaged communities and young people across the city. And we’re working with strategic partners to deliver projects tackling health inequalities and child poverty in the region.

Strengthening financial resilience

Citizens Advice Eastleigh

Aviva have co-funded, with Eastleigh Town Council, a two-year pilot project with Citizen Advice Eastleigh working with five priority primary schools in the region. The project embeds a dedicated caseworker within the community to support families with dependent children, particularly single-parent households most affected by deprivation.

Using Citizens Advice data and input from local schools, the pilot offers confidential, expert guidance and links families to vital support, strengthening financial resilience, health, and educational outcomes while remaining responsive to community needs.

Investing in housing and infrastructure

WBS Growth Partnership

In November 2025, Aviva Capital Partners, Southampton City Council and the University of Southampton formed a joint venture company, WBS Growth Partnership LLP. The partnership acquired a former Toys ‘R’ Us retail site to be redeveloped as a mixed-use neighbourhood focused on innovation, enterprise, and education, as well as offices and residential. The redevelopment aims to deliver benefits for residents - creating new jobs, and homes for the people of Southampton.

Improving employability prospects

Southampton and Hampshire Careers Hub

Aviva joins with the local authority, Careers Hub and local priority primary and secondary schools to support young people via employability programmes. This involves providing business encounters and meaningful experiences of work for young people at risk of becoming not in education, employment or training (NEET).
