Aviva appoints Chris Cochrane as Group Chief Information Officer*

Aviva plc (“Aviva” or the “Company”) has appointed Chris Cochrane as Group Chief Information Officer with effect from summer 2026.  Chris is currently Group Chief Information Technology Officer at M&G and replaces John Cummings who is retiring.

Chris has enjoyed a highly successful career in technology leadership roles, including as CIO of BT Global Services and CIO of Openreach Service Delivery prior to his appointment at M&G.

Amanda Blanc DBE, Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “This is a very important appointment for Aviva. Chris is a seasoned, highly experienced CIO who brings a wealth of expertise to the company as we continue to grow and deliver for our customers and for our investors. I very much look forward to working with him.

*The appointment is subject to approval by the PRA and FCA.
