Marek Przybylski has been appointed chairman and Tymoteusz Paleczny member of the board of Commercial Union Investment Management (Polska) SA, the management company specialising in assets.
Until now, Marek Przybylski was vice chairman of CU IM. From 2001 he was also chairman of the board of Commercial Union Polska – Investment Fund Society SA. Tymoteusz Paleczny was previously the financial director of CU IM. Vice chairman Ian Ainscow is also joining the CU IM team.
CU Investment Management holds a Securities and Exchange Commission licence to manage securities trust portfolios and investment consultation. CU IM manages CU Polska – Life Insurance Society's insurance fund assets, CU Investment Fund Society SA funds and assets entrusted by CU Polska – General Insurance Society.
At the end of 1999 the total asset value managed by CU IM amounted to nearly 2.4 billion zlotys and by the end of 2002, over 6.6 billion zlotys. This makes it the second largest asset management company on the market, with a nearly 18% share of the market.
Marek Przybylski (40) has an MA in Management and Marketing from the University of Warsaw and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Illinois. He also has the title of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), granted by the Association for Investment Management and Research. He obtained his consultant's licence in the field of public securities circulation in 1995. During 1995-1998 he worked for Creditanstalt Securities SA, then for CA IB Securities SA as an investment consultant and head of the analysis section.
From 1998 he was vice chairman of CU Investment Management. Since 2001 he has also been chairman of the board of Commercial Union Polska – The Investment Fund Society SA. Marek Przybylski is married and has three children. His hobbies include skiing, swimming and competitive bridge.
Tymoteusz Paleczny (33) has been working in CU Investment Management since 1999, first as deputy director, then as Financial Director. In addition to finances, he was also responsible for operations and internal monitoring. Recently he has also fulfilled the function of the company's proxy. Before that, he gained experience working for the auditors Ernst & Young. He has an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification. He is married and has one child. He is interested in skiing, volleyball and travelling.
