Norwich Union launches £3m second-wave stakeholder advertising campaign

Norwich Union Life - the UK’s largest life insurer - will launch on Monday 27 August a Ł3m second wave advertising campaign to promote the newly launched government style stakeholder pensions. This follows on the back of Norwich Union’s high profile Ł7 million TV launch campaign in May.

This campaign further demonstrates Norwich Union’s backing for stakeholder pensions and commitment to becoming a leading provider in this new market. The adverts will again use real people rather than actors, depicting a range of occupations, from waiters and chefs to publicans and locksmiths.

The adverts will feature on the sides of more than 3,000 double decker buses (1 in 4 of all the UK’s double deckers!) and more than 17,200 outdoor poster sites over a four-week period.

National press adverts, focusing on the need for employers to set up a stakeholder pension scheme before the government deadline of 8 October 2001, will run alongside the outdoor campaign.

Sally Shire, director of brand and communications, commented: “Our Ł10 million investment in advertising totally underlines our commitment to stakeholder pensions. This second phase campaign will help to increase the awareness and importance of stakeholder for both workers and employers in the run up to the 8 October government deadline.”
