Our Teams

Finance

Our Finance team is a highly skilled group of specialists and experts with strong accounting and reporting expertise. What sets our team apart is the wealth of experience, accumulated individually by each member through working in various insurance companies. Every day, we use this knowledge to develop innovative solutions in our projects and pride ourselves on being true team players. The Finance Team is actively involved in group projects and supports standard processes across the Aviva Group.

Within the team, we have two groups: the Investment Reporting team and a project team dedicated to transformation initiatives within the Finance function. The Investment Reporting team manages a diverse range of assets in the Aviva Group portfolio and prepares asset reports in accordance with IFRS and Solvency II requirements. Our skill set also includes expertise in controlling, which is utilised to support cost control in group projects.

The unique skills of our team are highly valued by managers and colleagues throughout the Aviva Group, and our colleagues have a significant influence on shaping organisational processes, often building them from the ground up.

We value strong relationships between teams and share a common goal of shaping an organisation that is well-matched, valuable, and aligned with the needs of Aviva’s customers.

Actuary

Our Actuary team plays a pivotal role in safeguarding Aviva’s financial security and supporting informed decision-making across the Aviva Group. Harnessing advanced mathematical and statistical techniques, our actuaries expertly analyse and model the future to minimise the financial consequences of uncertainty in insurance and pensions.

As the largest actuarial team in Poland, we take pride in our depth of expertise and our collaborative approach. Our actuaries are organised into specialist teams aligned with Aviva’s diverse business lines, ensuring tailored support and in-depth insight for each area of the Group’s operations.

Every day, we build sophisticated models to predict future cash flows, calculate the capital needed to withstand rare adverse events, price insurance products, and interpret financial outcomes under various regulatory regimes, including Solvency II and IFRS 17. Our toolkit includes industry-leading software such as Prophet, R, Python, Tyche, and Radar, empowering us to deliver robust analysis and innovative solutions.

Beyond technical modelling, our team communicates complex results in clear financial terms, enabling Aviva’s leadership to make confident, strategic decisions. The scope of our work is vast, spanning everything from routine analyses to major transformation projects, which reflects the evolving and dynamic nature of the actuarial profession today.

Data Science

Our Data Science team undertakes a broad spectrum of data-driven tasks, including data processing and analytics, modelling with Machine Learning and Deep Learning, developing dashboards and data visualisations, and creating Generative AI applications.

Our journey began by supporting Aviva Health Insurance in the UK. Over time, we expanded into fraud detection (Motor & Household), customer propensity analysis (Life Protection), underwriting automation, and dashboard creation (Commercial & Personal Lines). We also support the Group Risk Function, pricing initiatives in Aviva Ireland, and the development of Generative AI solutions for various markets.

Currently, our focus is on the General Insurance claims platform, where we contribute to analytics, modelling, and system set-up using AWS-based solutions.

Our work aligns with the Aviva Group’s strategic priorities, enhancing customer experience through digitalisation, automation, and AI. The Data Science Team contributes to cost optimisation and strengthens Aviva’s competitive edge.

IT

Our IT Centre of Excellence (CoE) team delivers advanced IT solutions that support IT platforms across the Aviva Group. Our primary goal is to deliver systems and solutions for key Aviva departments, including Corporate Functions, Digital, Customer & Marketing, and Data Analysis.

Our mission is to establish a technologically advanced hub responsible for implementing Aviva’s global IT strategy. The team brings together expertise in programming, automated testing, data engineering, IT project management within Agile environments, and DevOps.

The IT CoE comprises several specialist teams which form the pillars of modern IT – Technology (Software Development, QA), DevOps, Data Engineering, Change Delivery & Project Management, and SaaS Run—which form the pillars of modern IT.

We deliver highly advanced IT solutions, and our ongoing growth and expansion will enable Aviva to create strategic in-house solutions and deliver end-to-end projects.

Cyber Security

Our Cyber Security team protects what matters most - the safety of our customers and colleagues and ensures strong protection against cyber threats.

We deliver two core services that provide robust, adaptive, and business-aligned security across Aviva globally: Group Security Operations Centre (GSOC) and Cyber Security Assurance.

The Group Security Operations Centre (GSOC) serves as the frontline of defence, providing 24/7 monitoring, detection, and response to cyber threats across the Group.

By leveraging advanced technologies and highly skilled professionals, we proactively safeguard Aviva’s digital assets and ensure rapid incident response and mitigation. Our approach is collaborative, agile, and deeply integrated with business operations across the Group.

The Cyber Security Assurance Team plays a critical role in ensuring that cyber risks are identified, assessed, and effectively managed across Aviva Group entities. This team provides expert guidance and oversight to ensure that security controls are fit for purpose, aligned with regulatory expectations, and embedded into business processes. The goal is to enable secure decision-making and support strategic initiatives with confidence and clarity.

Together, we enable Aviva to operate confidently in a digital world, delivering security that’s not just protective, but also enabling.

Change

Our Change team drives the implementation of both business and technological changes within the Aviva Group with unwavering passion. Our team of experienced business analysts and project managers seamlessly combines domain expertise with a pragmatic approach to project delivery.

Our mission is to deliver tangible value – we design and implement IT and financial solutions that meet the organisation's needs and support its growth. We collaborate with various teams, including General Insurance (GI) and Insurance, Wealth & Retirement (IWR), to successfully execute initiatives of strategic importance.

We operate with agility, are forward-thinking, and prioritise effective communication. From identifying needs, through analysis and planning, to implementation and evaluation, we lead and advise at every stage of the transformation journey.

With us, change is never a challenge but an opportunity.

Risk

Our Risk team supports the Group Financial and Sustainability Risk department by identifying, measuring, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks.

We form an integral part of the Group Independent Validation team, operating as a ‘second line’ function. Our primary role is to provide independent opinions on the Internal Model and other key models for the Group, reporting directly to the Board Risk Committee and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA).

Additionally, we collaborate with the Group Financial Risk team, which oversees financial risks across the business, including credit, market, and liquidity risks. This ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies, as well as supporting important business decisions.

Our team requires strong actuarial, mathematical, and statistical expertise, alongside a broad technical understanding of the Group’s operations. We use analytical and programming tools in our work and communicate our findings to colleagues at all levels, including senior leaders.

We are always forward-thinking, sharing knowledge across the business and ensuring everyone is aware of and responsive to regulatory changes. This approach strengthens protection for our customers and shareholders.

Operations

Our Operations team is responsible for supporting the organisation’s core operational processes, including office management, procurement, contract governance, car fleet management, and the business continuity plan. Therefore, accuracy, timeliness, and strong organisational skills are essential to us.

The Operations Team also defines procedural standards and ensures a proper environment for our business functions to deliver their services to the Aviva Group.

We use proven methodologies such as Kanban, FIFO, and huddles as part of our overall continuous improvement approach. Every day, we foster a positive atmosphere while encouraging independence in task execution, without losing sight of our responsibility for commitments.

People

Our People team is here to empower every colleague to shine bright. We’re passionate about bringing together talented people and helping them find their spark through a rewarding career path, engaging development programmes and inspiring training sessions. We also celebrate diversity and are committed to building an inclusive, vibrant culture where everyone can belong and bring their best selves to work.

We’re here for our colleagues by taking care of all things HR: from payroll, and benefits to group insurance and bonuses. Our team also facilities internal communication to ensure all important updates are shared and everyone’s in the loop about all things Aviva. Externally, we proudly showcase our values through Aviva’s Employer Branding and CSR initiatives.

Above all, we’re here to foster a welcoming, supportive workplace where everyone feels valued, heard and inspired every day to grow and thrive.
