Working as a Customer Service and Sales Advisor, I chat with our Home and Motor Insurance customers every day, helping with renewals, policy changes, and new quotes.
Finding my perfect job
I’ve always loved helping people, so when I saw this role, it felt like the perfect fit. It’s not just about ticking boxes - it’s about listening, being patient, and making sure people understand what they’re paying for. You hear all sorts of life stories, and every call is different.
A small moment that meant a lot
One call that really stuck with me came from a young woman asking if I could call her grandmother back for a home insurance quote. Her granny wasn’t confident using online services and also used Bluetooth hearing aids, which can make phone calls tricky.
I gave her a call a few minutes later. She was cheerful, we had a laugh, and it was great to confirm that she was eligible for a discount so she got the best deal. She was delighted.
Later, I got a lovely compliment from her, and it reminded me why I love this job. In return, I made her chuckle by calling her 'Granny' by the end of the call, because of the connection we had built. Not every day is easy, but moments like that make it all worth it.
