Giovanna fletcher and Churchill launch "little chapters of chill"

·         Churchill launches “Little Chapters of Chill” - a series of five audio books designed to teach 4-7-year olds mindfulness techniques, in partnership with influencer Giovanna Fletcher

Churchill has partnered with superstar author and podcast host Giovanna Fletcher to launch a new series of children’s audiobooks.  The series “Little Chapters of Chill” contains five books about Churchie, Churchill’s iconic mascot, with each story focussing on a different mindfulness technique for children aged 4-7.  The audio books are a great way to get kids off screens, calm the mind and keep them entertained.

Each of the stories is just 12 minutes long, ideal for a young child’s attention span. The books, written by award winning author and meditation teacher Sue Pickford, are read by Giovanna Fletcher and have been designed to keep children entertained, while also supporting better mental health practices through mindfulness exercises.

Churchill, who has stepped outside of insurance to create the audiobooks, originally planned to launch these during the summer, but have bought the release date forward to help families staying safe at home.

Giovanna Fletcher, author and podcast host commented, commented: “Parents across the country are juggling being homeworkers, teachers and entertainers all in one.  As I know from my own experience, trying to work and look after children while being home all day is no picnic.  It’s important not to expect too much of yourself and do whatever you can to cope and keep sane – you are all superheroes! Focussing on family mental health at a stressful time for everyone in the home is vital, which is why I’m excited to be narrating Churchill’s audio books that teach clever mindfulness techniques.”

Sue Pickford, author, said: “Mindfulness and meditation are important for children as well as adults, especially now as they have been through a huge amount of disruption to their routines. Taking a few minutes out of a busy day to practice mindfulness, such as breathing techniques and visualisation, can help to slow down the pace of life and be calming.  The audio books I’ve written will really help parents, as they will help children relax and focus positively.”

Jane Morgan, Marketing Manager, Churchill Home Insurance, said: “Parents have been finding lockdown really difficult as they are under pressure to maintain their level of work while also educating and entertaining their children.  Many have taken on a role of teacher alongside their full-time job and this is not easy. At Churchill, we want to do whatever we can to help parents through this time, which is why we have developed these audio books. We hope that these can provide a little bit of peace and calm to both children and parents during this difficult time.”
