  • Helpline is the latest benefit offered to Aviva Signature customers following launch of Signature Club earlier this year

Aviva has announced that Aviva Signature home insurance customers will now receive access to CyberScout, a cyber safety helpline providing advice on everyday online concerns and more serious incidents such as online scams, identity fraud, extortion attempts and online bullying.

Around 4.2 million fraud incidents were reported in England and Wales in the year ending March 2025, a 31% increase on the previous year.[1] Around two-thirds of fraud reported in the UK is estimated to be cyber-enabled, which can include online shopping scams, account takeover and phishing attacks.[2]

Research from TransUnion, CyberScout's parent company, found that one in two UK consumers experienced a fraud attempt in the last three months, while 14% lost money to fraud over the last year.[3] Victims often experience effects beyond the financial loss, with 71% reporting emotional impacts such as anger, shock, vulnerability and loss of confidence.[1]

As fraudsters increasingly target consumers through digital channels, many victims require practical support after an incident occurs, from securing accounts to preventing further misuse of their personal information. The Cyber Safety Helpline operates 24/7 – customers can call at any time for guidance, including for advice following a cyber incident. Customers are connected to a dedicated support specialist who can guide them through practical next steps, including reporting fraud, engaging banks and card providers, protecting personal information and reducing the risk of further harm.

CyberScout can also support in cases of online bullying where a customer is being harassed or threatened through social media, e-mail or messaging apps. In these situations, CyberScout can provide advice on how to preserve information, prevent further contact and report the matter to the platforms and law enforcement.

Our Cyber Safety Helpline gives our customers access to expert support for online troubles at any time of day, helping them navigate the aftermath of a cyber incident and regain confidence.

Nisha Soni, Head of Aviva Signature at Aviva, said:

"We know that being targeted for cyber fraud or scams doesn’t just take a financial toll – it can take an emotional one too. The same goes for those who find themselves subjected to cyber bullying. In those moments many people don't know who to call or what steps to take next.

Our Cyber Safety Helpline gives our customers access to expert support for online troubles at any time of day, helping them navigate the aftermath of a cyber incident and regain confidence. As well as cyber incidents, the helpline can also provide advice on everyday online worries, such as unexpected emails or concerns when a link has been clicked.

The helpline will provide real value to our Signature Club members, further extending the benefits available to our direct Signature policyholders”.

The addition of access to the Cyber Safety Helpline is the latest non-contractual benefit available to Aviva Signature Club home insurance members - which is only available to customers who purchase directly from Aviva. Members also benefit from Signature Extras, which offers discounts and cashback across over 800 high-street brands. The benefits are provided at no extra cost to customers.
