Direct Line Group responds to the FCA’s General Insurance Pricing Practices Final Policy Statement

Direct Line Group responds to the FCA’s General Insurance Pricing Practices Final Policy Statement which sets out remedies seeking to improve outcomes for long-standing customers.

Penny James, CEO, Direct Line Group commented: “We welcome today’s Final Policy Statement as it provides certainty for the industry and we will now work through the detail in advance of the reforms coming in next January. We always said that we believe our brands, customer service and diversification mean we can thrive on any genuinely level playing field and this statement delivers that.

"We have been preparing for the reforms and feel confident the actions we have already taken for long-standing customers mean that we are both ready and well positioned.

"Our business model is underpinned by our technology transformation which is giving more customers the convenience of interacting with us digitally in a way that suits them. It will also enable greater capability to deliver tailored propositions with market leading efficiency and pricing.

"To earn customer loyalty today you’ve got to provide a quality insurance experience from the moment people consider buying a policy, through the way their cover is managed, and give them peace of mind when making a claim.

"The Group has fundamental strengths in these areas meaning we are well placed to win in the new market and continue our journey of building an insurance company of the future.”
