Aviva has recently been included in a number of the World’s leading benchmark indices, this recognises the focus we put on acting responsibly in the way that we do business to ensure that Aviva is here for the long term to provide prosperity and peace of mind.
The FTSE4Good includes approximately 2000 global organisations with good management of environment, social and governance issues (ESG). We’ve been part of this Index since in its inception in 2001.
Since 2011, FTSE have been publishing a rating of each company to give investors detailed information on how companies manage each specific ESG issue. For the past two years they have rated Aviva within the top 5 Global organisations scoring 4.8 out of a possible 5.
Dow Jones Sustainability Index
We’ve also been included again in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index which we’ve been part of for over 10 years.
Dow Jones carry out a detailed review of many of our systems and processes related to procurement, governance, remuneration and our contribution to society as an example. This year we’ve improved our score to 81 from 73 - a significant improvement in a year that has seen 41 companies removed from the list.
STOXX ESG Leaders
The STOXX® Global ESG Leaders index was launched last year, Aviva have now been included in it for a second consecutive year. This index model allows investors to fully understand which factors determine a company’s ESG rating and why these factors are important.
Oekom
Following their most recent review Oekom has confirmed our investment status as ‘Prime’ with a ‘C’ rating and therefore Aviva is a company that they are recommending to their clients for investment.
