Aviva in Spain achieved a pre-tax profit of €122 million in June 2011.
- According to data from the ICEA, Aviva achieved a 6.5% share of life premiums production in Spain, occupying fourth place in the life insurance ranking
- Managed resources reach the figure of €14,176 million
Aviva in Spain achieved a pre-tax profit of €122 million in June 2011. The business reached €1,201 million, out of which €974 million correspond to premiums issued and €227 million to contributions to pension plans.
It also highlights the satisfactory development of the results of Aviva Europa with a 21% increase of its results with respect to the previous year, which contributed to the Aviva Group achieving a total profit of £1,336 million over this period of time.
It also highlights the importance of the results of Aviva España, which amount to 8% of the Group and 21% of Europe.
The Group’s strong solvency position should also be noted, with an excess of £4,000 million.
Ignacio Izquierdo, managing director of Aviva España, referred to these results in the following terms: “In spite of the difficult market conditions, our results demonstrate the great strength of our model which is centred on those profitable lines of business and with high added value to the client, the loyalty and retention of our portfolio, and discipline in costs.”
On his part, David Angulo, banking insurance director of Aviva Europa, highlighted the fact that: “Aviva España is continuing to grow significantly, increasing its contribution to the Group. Intense work and close collaboration with our partners remain the cornerstone of continued growth, despite our being immersed in the severe crisis of today.”
