Romania: www.e-viata.ro – the first website for financial education

Today Aviva Romania launches the first website for financial education set out to inform visitors about life insurance products, investments and pensions available on the Romanian market.

Today Aviva Romania launches the first website for financial education set out to inform visitors about life insurance products, investments and pensions available on the Romanian market.

Aviva Romania wants to be as close as possible to its clients to offer them the products and services they need, at the right moment, for which reason during the past few years it has undertaken a number of market researches to find out what Romanians are looking for in financial products. The results have shown that people become aware of the importance of a life insurance only after meeting a financial consultant.

  • 27% of Romanians consider the Internet to be the most credible source for the purchase of a financial product or service.
  • 33% of Romanians at one time or another have purchased a financial product or service without knowing all its characteristics; have neglected the contract and signed it without reading carefully all its provisions.
  • 65% of Romanians consider that financial institutions are not transparent at the time when they are purchasing a financial product/service.

“These were some of the most relevant figures that made us determined to act – the potential clients are educated busy people who appreciate the fact that they can find information in a simple way, from a virtual consultant, with a few clicks of a mouse and that, if they are looking for more, they can choose to meet a financial consultant,” stated Mihai Popescu, CEO Aviva Romania.

“We have created this site non-branded because we are talking about life insurance in general, not about the Aviva products; we explain and detail concepts such as life insurance, children’s insurance, insurance with a saving component, mandatory private pensions - (Pylon 2) and optional private pensions (Pylon 3),” continued Mihai Popescu

The www.e-viata.ro site is a dynamic site, with a rich content, definitions, all explained in a simple everyday language. With the audio-video component the visitor can experience a face to face interaction with an insurance consultant, virtual on this occasion, who will explain in a very simple way terms which otherwise seem complicated. Browsing the site does not involve any commitment to buy a product, just getting informed.

The site has a questions and answers section, where visitors can register any questions they have to which they could not find answers on the site, and they will receive a prompt answer.

www.e-viata.ro is a website for people who do not have the time to meet a financial consultant, but would like to, people who want to find out details about life insurance and pensions, people who know these products are important to them and their families, but do not understand them in their entirety and need additional information.

“We aim at those who spend a great deal of time on the Internet, who like to be informed before purchasing something, the self-taught persons, for which reason the main method of promoting the site is through the internet; classical banner campaigns, and also a campaign in the social media. We already have a Facebook account and now will have a separate campaign page where there will always be new information and competitions for the fans,” concluded Mihai Popescu.
