Ireland: Get fit to your favourite track with Health Mate, Aviva’s free Android app
Music to our ears! Baz Ashmawy and Laura Woods swapped the gym for the outdoors today and got fit to their favourite track with the help of Aviva’s Android app, Health Mate, that’s free to download from today for all Smartphone or iPhone fans. The app has a slick new multi-media centre that allows you to post updates to Facebook and set the soundtrack to any workout, so there’s no excuse to avoid exercising!
Health Mate from Aviva provides the user with everything they need to exercise and proactively manage their own health, including new push notifications with helpful nutrition and exercise tips on how to get in shape and stay motivated. It’s the only pedometer app that provides detailed localised information for the Irish market and comes pre-loaded with 100 popular walking and running trails right across the country.
Health Mate from Aviva, now available on all Android devices, is free to download from the Android Market from today. The refreshed iPhone version is also available to download from the Health & Fitness category of the app store now.
Notes: Aviva was the first health insurer in Ireland to launch an iPhone application last year in the Irish market and is now the first to release an Android app. Since then the app market has exploded with over eight million apps downloaded to date by almost a quarter of Irish consumers1. Half a million people actively download apps on a regular basis, with music (47%) and games (45%) the two most popular types of apps being downloaded2.
