France: Caspar Van Haaften appointed director of bank insurance models and partnerships

Aviva France, a major player in the life assurance and long-term savings, asset management and general insurance sectors is pleased to announce the appointment of Caspar van Haaften to the post of director of bank insurance models and partnerships of Aviva France from 24 January 2011, replacing Sylvain Rivet, who, after twenty-five year’s service with Aviva, has decided to pursue new personal goals.

Aged 44 and a graduate in economics, finance and marketing from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, between November 1989 and October 1994, Caspar van Haaften worked as an external auditor for KPMG. He rejoined Delta Lloyd, a subsidiary of the Aviva Group in Benelux and Germany, on 1 October 1994 with a variety of responsibilities in the financial control sector from October 1994 to February 1997, before being appointed regional sales director, a post he held until April 1999.

He was promoted to the post of director general of CGU Vie in Belgium, before becoming, in July 2001, director of all Delta Lloyd’s general and life insurance business in Belgium. He also headed the company’s bank insurance model network. From March 2008, Caspar van Haaften was director of business development for Aviva Europe, London.

Of Dutch nationality, but French-speaking, Caspar van Haaften is a member of the Executive Company of Aviva France, reporting directly to Nicolas Schimel, director general of Aviva France.
