AvivaSA Pension and Life, one of the foremost companies in the personal pension and life insurance sector, has achieved a fund value of TL 2 billion.

AvivaSA, which continued powerful growth in 2009 when the global crisis was being experienced in Turkey and around the world, maintained its leadership of the sector as of 8 January 2010.

According to Pensions Monitoring Centre (EGM) data of 8 January 2010, AvivaSA was the first company in the Personal Pension System whose own fund exceeded TL 2 billion with a total of TL 2,016,123,089. According to EGM data of the same date, AvivaSA, with a total of more than 308,369 contributors, was in the leading position with a contribution total of TL 1,585,649,294 and a total investment directed sum of TL 1,529,335,547.

Commenting on the development, AvivaSA CEO Meral Egemen stated: “In spite of the difficult economic circumstances, we made a strong start in 2010 with our fund exceeding TL 2 billion.”

Egemen indicated that she did not anticipate negative fluctuations in 2010, that new participants would join the system, that contribution shares would increase, that the sector would continue to grow with a variety of project ranges, and that AvivaSA aimed to grow in parallel with the sector as a whole.

Egemen stated “The fund value of the personal pensions system should be in the 100 billion range. Making tax incentives attractive would be a positive step for the sector in reaching such sizes. We will continue our efforts to maintain our successful performance in the remainder of the year, and to explain to the public that personal pensions are the best long-term investment and savings vehicle.”
