The Aviva company signed on 70.2 million litai worth of life insurance premiums over the first 11 months of 2009, which, compared to the same period last year, increased Aviva’s market share in the Lithuanian life insurance market from 15.7 % last year to 16.5 % this year.
Aviva Lithuania general manager Asta Ungulaitienė, says: “During the course of the challenge-filled year of 2009, we not only maintained but even increased our client portfolio. We are inspired to keep working conscientiously by the mature attitude of our clients to long-term saving, their trust in our company and also their trust in the advantages of having life insurance, which is particularly apparent in these difficult times.”
Aviva Lithuania services are used by 154,000 Level II pension fund clients. As of 28 December 2009, client assets in life insurance and pension funds controlled by Aviva Lithuania consisted of 571 million litai, ie 40% more than the same period last year, when the assets amounted to 408 million litai. The Aviva Group serves 50 million clients in 28 countries. The Aviva group as a whole controls assets worth £381 billion (1.5 trillion litai).
