The Aviva Lithuania life insurance and pension fund company is offering a new service: insurance for critical illnesses. This is now available as an additional option when taking out universal life insurance. The new service covers 11 critical adult illnesses and 8 critical illnesses that can affect children (aged 12–17 years).
Once this service is included in a premium, the coverage on these illnesses is effective after the third month, which is half the waiting period imposed by other companies in the Lithuanian life insurance market for similar conditions. Aviva Lithuania clients can therefore get access to this coverage sooner than clients of other companies.
Aviva Lithuania general manager Asta Ungulaitienė, says: “Our new service provides insurance protection in the case of critical illness. If you fall ill with a severe illness you may need lengthy and expensive treatment. Sometimes the only recourse available may be the methods of treatment available in hospitals abroad and using the latest medicines.
"You may need to change your job or even give up work, which can mean changes in your lifestyle and your quality of life. In these circumstances the assistance available from an insurance policy can help lessen the social impact of serious illnesses and may help you find a new path in life.”
Aviva Lithuania offers 14 different insurance services, which can be adapted to each individual client’s needs. The company currently has 192,000 clients, who are served by about 500 professional finance consultants in 17 branch offices in Lithuania.
